The Beast in Man (1890) - is a work by Emile Zola (1840-1902), a French writer and publicist. This is the seventh novel in Les Rougon-Macquart series. It's an awesome story of a family. The story describes a murder of a woman committed by her husband-rapist and its investigation. Even though critics blamed the author for dirty romanticism, the book was really popular among readers.
