Péter Hraskó received higher education in the Ural State Technological University in Yekaterinburg (former Sverdlovsk in USSR) and Ph. D. degree in physics in the KFKI Research Institute for Particle and Nuclear Physics in Budapest (Hungary). He worked there until his retirement.
